ΗΠΑ: Νέες κυρώσεις κατά της Ρωσίας ενέκρινε η Βουλή των Αντιπροσώπων
Νέο πακέτο κυρώσεων και δασμών κατά της Ρωσίας ενέκρινε η Βουλή των Αντιπροσώπων των ΗΠΑ, με στόχο την αύξηση της οικονομικής πίεσης προς τη Μόσχα για την εισβολή της στην Ουκρανία το 2022. Το νομοσχέδιο εστάλη στον Ντόναλντ Τραμπ προς υπογραφή, σχεδόν ενάμιση χρόνο μετά την κατάθεσή του από τον εκλιπόντα γερουσιαστή Λίντσεϊ Γκράχαμ. Το νομοσχέδιο, το οποίο ονομάζεται «Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026», προς τιμήν του Ρεπουμπλικάνου γερουσιαστή από τη Νότια Καρολίνα, είχε ήδη εγκριθεί από τη Γερουσία τον περασμένο μήνα. Η Ομοσπονδιακή Τράπεζα των ΗΠΑ (Fed) αποφάσισε σήμερα να αυξήσει κατά 25 μονάδες βάσης το βασικό επιτόκιό της, στο εύρος του 3,75%-4%, σε μια κίνηση που είχε προεξοφληθεί από τις χρηματοπιστωτικές αγορές, αλλά βρέθηκε απέναντι στις πιέσεις του προέδρου των ΗΠΑ Ντόναλντ Τραμπ για μείωση του κόστους δανεισμού. Πρόκειται για την πρώτη αύξηση των επιτοκίων από το καλοκαίρι του 2023.
