«Βροχή» οι απάτες μέσω τηλεφώνου και διαδικτύου – Επιτήδειοι χρησιμοποιούν ακόμη και την Τεχνητή Νοημοσύνη
Στους νέους τρόπους που χρησιμοποιούν οι επιτήδειοι στις τηλεφωνικές απάτες, αξιοποιώντας πλέον και την τεχνητή νοημοσύνη για την κλωνοποίηση φωνής, αναφέρθηκε ο αντιστράτηγος ε.α. και πρώην διευθυντής της Δίωξης Ηλεκτρονικού Εγκλήματος, Γιώργος Παπαπροδρόμου μιλώντας στο δελτίο ειδήσεων της ΕΡΤ3 με την δημοσιογράφο Φένια Κλιάτση. Όπως εξήγησε, η τεχνολογία επιτρέπει τη δημιουργία ιδιαίτερα πειστικών ηχητικών αρχείων που μιμούνται τη φωνή ενός οικείου προσώπου, με στόχο συχνά την εξαπάτηση κυρίως ηλικιωμένων. «Ο καθένας μπορεί να εξαπατηθεί», επισήμανε, τονίζοντας ότι οι δράστες επιχειρούν να αιφνιδιάσουν και να πανικοβάλουν τα υποψήφια θύματα. Ο κ. Παπαπροδρόμου συνέστησε σε όσους δέχονται ύποπτες κλήσεις να διακόπτουν αμέσως τη συνομιλία και να επικοινωνούν οι ίδιοι με το συγγενικό τους πρόσωπο. «Σε καμία περίπτωση δεν ενδίδουμε και δεν δίνουμε χρήματα ή άλλα πολύτιμα αντικείμενα», υπογράμμισε. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση έδωσε και στην καταγγελία τέτοιων περιστατικών στις Αρχές, ακόμη και όταν πρόκειται μόνο για απόπειρα εξαπάτησης. «Ενημερώνουμε ακόμη και για την απόπειρα απάτης, γιατί είναι κι αυτό αδίκημα», σημείωσε, επισημαίνοντας ότι η έγκαιρη παροχή στοιχείων μπορεί να συμβάλει στον εντοπισμό των δραστών και στην αποτροπή νέων περιστατικών. Έφυγε από τη ζωή η ομότιμη καθηγήτρια του Τμήματος Βιολογίας του ΑΠΘ, Στυλιανή (Στέλλα) Κοκκίνη, με το Τμήμα να εκφράζει τη βαθιά θλίψη του για την απώλεια μιας «εξαίρετης συναδέλφου, δασκάλας και επιστήμονα». Η Στυλιανή Κοκκίνη υπηρέτησε το Τμήμα Βιολογίας από τα πρώτα χρόνια της ίδρυσής του έως το 2021 και υπήρξε πρωτοπόρος στην καθιέρωση της Συστηματικής Βοτανικής στο ΑΠΘ και στην Ελλάδα. Ανέπτυξε σημαντική ερευνητική δραστηριότητα, μεταξύ άλλων, στα αρωματικά και φαρμακευτικά φυτά, στην ποικιλότητα των αιθέριων ελαίων και στην εθνοβοτανική. Κατά τη διάρκεια της ακαδημαϊκής της πορείας διετέλεσε αναπληρώτρια πρόεδρος του Τμήματος Βιολογίας, διευθύντρια του Τομέα Βοτανικής και επί σειρά ετών διευθύντρια του Εργαστηρίου Συστηματικής Βοτανικής και Φυτογεωγραφίας.
