Πέντε Παλαιστίνιοι σκοτώθηκαν σε ισραηλινές επιχειρήσεις σε Γάζα και Δυτική Όχθη
Ισραηλινή αεροπορική επιδρομή στοίχισε τη ζωή σε δύο Παλαιστίνιους στο βόρειο τμήμα της Λωρίδας της Γάζας, ενώ άλλοι τρεις βρήκαν τον θάνατο στη Δυτική Όχθη. Εκπρόσωπος των ισραηλινών ενόπλων δυνάμεων (IDF) διευκρίνισε πως στόχος της αεροπορικής επιδρομής στο βόρειο τμήμα του παλαιστινιακού θύλακα ήταν «τρομοκράτες». Ανέφερε επίσης ότι ένας έποικος σκότωσε δύο Παλαιστίνιους στη Δυτική Όχθη, αφότου ένας Ισραηλινός μαχαιρώθηκε στη διάρκεια συμπλοκής. Σύμφωνα με το παλαιστινιακό πρακτορείο ειδήσεων WAFA, ισραηλινοί στρατιώτες και έποικοι επιτέθηκαν σε κατοίκους του Μπέιτ Φουρίκ οι οποίοι προσπαθούσαν να σβήσουν πυρκαγιά που είχε ξεσπάσει μεταξύ της κοινότητάς τους και του οικισμού Ιταμάρ. Σημειώθηκε διαπληκτισμός ανάμεσα σε Παλαιστίνιους και Ισραηλινούς κι ένας έποικος μαχαιρώθηκε. Ακολούθως, ισραηλινός «πολίτης» σκότωσε δύο Παλαιστίνιους, διευκρίνισε εκπρόσωπος του στρατού. Αποσύρονται από την Ερυθρά Θάλασσα δύο γερμανικά πολεμικά πλοία που προορίζονταν για επιχείρηση ασφαλείας στα Στενά του Ορμούζ
Η Γερμανία ανακοίνωσε σήμερα την απόσυρση δύο πολεμικών πλοίων της, τα οποία βρίσκονταν κοντά στην Ερυθρά Θάλασσα με στόχο να συμμετάσχουν σε διεθνή επιχείρηση για την ασφάλεια των Στενών του Ορμούζ, μετά τις επιθέσεις σε σαουδαραβικά πετρελαιοφόρα, την ευθύνη για τις οποίες ανέλαβαν οι αντάρτες Χούθι της Υεμένης. Το ναρκαλιευτικό Fulda και το πλοίο ανεφοδιασμού Mosel είχαν σταλεί στο Τζιμπουτί, ενόψει μιας πιθανής αποστολής αποναρκοθέτησης στα Στενά του Ορμούζ. Ωστόσο, αποφασίστηκε η επιστροφή τους στη Μεσόγειο, κυρίως λόγω της «ασταθούς πολιτικής κατάστασης» στην περιοχή, όπως ανακοίνωσε το γερμανικό υπουργείο Άμυνας. Το Βερολίνο επικαλέστηκε επίσης την «έλλειψη προοπτικής έναρξης της αποστολής στο εγγύς μέλλον» ως έναν ακόμη λόγο για την απόφαση αυτή. Τα δύο πλοία βρίσκονταν αρχικά στη Μεσόγειο, όμως τον Ιούνιο διέσχισαν τη Διώρυγα του Σουέζ και κατέπλευσαν στο Τζιμπουτί, στην είσοδο της Ερυθράς Θάλασσας. Τα πληρώματά τους αριθμούν συνολικά 140 άτομα. Η Γερμανία έχει θέσει ως βασική προϋπόθεση για τη συμμετοχή της σε οποιαδήποτε επιχείρηση στα Στενά του Ορμούζ την επίτευξη μιας βιώσιμης κατάπαυσης του πυρός μεταξύ Ιράν και Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών. Νωρίτερα σήμερα, ο υπουργός Άμυνας της Γερμανίας, Μπόρις Πιστόριους, δήλωσε «πολύ ανήσυχος» για την κατάσταση στην Ερυθρά Θάλασσα και τη Μέση Ανατολή, η οποία, όπως ανέφερε, «εξελίσσεται σαφώς προς τη λάθος κατεύθυνση». «Αυτή τη στιγμή τίποτα, απολύτως τίποτα, δεν δείχνει ότι θα μπορούσε να επιτευχθεί κατάπαυση του πυρός, πόσο μάλλον ειρήνη, στην περιοχή», πρόσθεσε ο Γερμανός υπουργός.
