ΟΗΕ: Έκκληση για τον επαναπατρισμό 6.000 εγκλωβισμένων ναυτικών στα Στενά του Ορμούζ
Ο Οργανισμός Ηνωμένων Εθνών κάλεσε την Παρασκευή, 24 Ιουλίου, τις χώρες που εμπλέκονται στον πόλεμο στη Μέση Ανατολή να συμβάλουν στην απομάκρυνση και τον επαναπατρισμό περίπου 6.000 ναυτικών που παραμένουν εγκλωβισμένοι στα Στενά του Ορμούζ. Ο Ύπατος Αρμοστής του ΟΗΕ για τα Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα, Φόλκερ Τουρκ, ζήτησε να ληφθούν επειγόντως μέτρα για την αντιμετώπιση της κατάστασης των χιλιάδων εγκλωβισμένων ναυτικών, οι οποίοι αντιμετωπίζουν «μια σοβαρή ανθρωπιστική κρίση και κρίση ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων» στη θαλάσσια αυτή οδό, όπως δήλωσε η εκπρόσωπός του, Σάμπια Μαντού. Ο Διεθνής Ναυτιλιακός Οργανισμός (IMO) έχει αναφέρει ότι τουλάχιστον 6.000 ναυτικοί, που επιβαίνουν σε εκατοντάδες πλοία, παραμένουν εγκλωβισμένοι στα Στενά του Ορμούζ, χωρίς να μπορούν να απομακρυνθούν κατά τη διάρκεια της εκεχειρίας. «Τα εμπλεκόμενα μέρη πρέπει επειγόντως να εργαστούν ώστε να διασφαλιστεί η ασφαλής διέλευση των εγκλωβισμένων ναυτικών, προκειμένου να μπορέσουν να απομακρυνθούν και να αποβιβαστούν με ασφάλεια, καθώς και να εξασφαλιστεί η παράδοση κρίσιμων προμηθειών», δήλωσε η Μαντού κατά τη διάρκεια συνέντευξης Τύπου στη Γενεύη. «Οι επιθέσεις εναντίον πολιτικών πλοίων είναι απαράδεκτες και πρέπει να σταματήσουν. Τα πλοία αυτά προστατεύονται από το διεθνές ανθρωπιστικό δίκαιο», πρόσθεσε. Πηγή: (AP Photo) Σύμφωνα με την εκπρόσωπό του, ο Φόλκερ Τουρκ καλεί τα κράτη, τους πλοιοκτήτες και όλους τους εμπλεκόμενους φορείς να διασφαλίσουν επειγόντως την προστασία των εγκλωβισμένων ναυτικών, παρέχοντας, μεταξύ άλλων, προξενική συνδρομή και βασικές προμήθειες, καθώς και διευκολύνοντας την απομάκρυνση και τον επαναπατρισμό τους. Την ίδια ώρα, οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες εξαπέλυσαν νέες επιθέσεις κατά του Ιράν, μετά τις επιθέσεις των υποστηριζόμενων από την Τεχεράνη ανταρτών Χούθι εναντίον πετρελαιοφόρων στην Ερυθρά Θάλασσα, σε μια κλιμάκωση που οδήγησε τις τιμές του αργού πετρελαίου πάνω από τα 100 δολάρια το βαρέλι. Το Ποδηλατοδρόμιο Χανίων θα αποτελεί το μοναδικό εν λειτουργία ποδηλατοδρόμιο αγωνιστικών προδιαγραφών στη χώρα, σηματοδοτώντας μια νέα εποχή για την ανάπτυξη της ποδηλασίας στην Ελλάδα. Πρόκειται για μια σύγχρονη αθλητική εγκατάσταση, που δημιουργεί τις προϋποθέσεις για τη φιλοξενία προπονήσεων υψηλού επιπέδου, πανελλήνιων και διεθνών διοργανώσεων, καθώς και για την ουσιαστική ενίσχυση της αθλητικής δραστηριότητας και της εξωστρέφειας των Χανίων.
