Νέα βλάβη στην πλατφόρμα προς το Νησί των Ιωαννίνων
Εκτός λειτουργίας τέθηκε, για ακόμη μία φορά, η πλατφόρμα που μεταφέρει οχήματα από τη Δραμπάτοβα προς το Νησί των Ιωαννίνων. Η πλατφόρμα ακινητοποιήθηκε στο μέσο της λίμνης, ενώ ήταν φορτωμένη με οχήματα, εξαιτίας θραύσης της αλυσίδας που εξασφαλίζει την κίνησή της. Στην περιοχή έσπευσαν ιδιωτικές βάρκες και επιβατικά καραβάκια για να συνδράμουν στη ρυμούλκηση και στην αντιμετώπιση της βλάβης. Το περιστατικό επαναφέρει το ζήτημα της αντικατάστασης ή της συνολικής αναβάθμισης της πλατφόρμας, καθώς αποτελεί το μοναδικό μέσο μεταφοράς οχημάτων τροφοδοσίας και έκτακτης ανάγκης προς το Νησί. www.ertnews.gr

Προσπάθεια ανασύστασης του Μουσείου Φυσικής Ιστορίας Βόλου
Την ανασύσταση του Μουσείου Φυσικής Ιστορίας Βόλου επιχειρεί ομάδα επιστημόνων και ερευνητών, με στόχο να επαναφέρει στην πόλη έναν θεσμό που, όπως υποστηρίζουν, άφησε σημαντικό κενό μετά τη διακοπή της λειτουργίας του το 2022. Το μουσείο, που είχε ιδρυθεί το 2012, φιλοξένησε για μία δεκαετία απολιθώματα, ορυκτά και εκπαιδευτικές δράσεις, προσφέροντας σε μαθητές, φοιτητές και επισκέπτες τη δυνατότητα να γνωρίσουν τη φυσική ιστορία της περιοχής. Σύμφωνα με τον και γεωλόγο Μάρκο Βαξεβανόπουλο, ο οποίος μίλησε στην ΕΡΤ Βόλου, η προσπάθεια δεν περιορίζεται στην επαναλειτουργία του μουσείου με την παλιά του μορφή, αλλά στοχεύει στη δημιουργία ενός μεγαλύτερου και πιο σύγχρονου χώρου, ο οποίος θα αποτελέσει κόμβο πολιτισμού και επιστημονικής γνώσης για τον Βόλο και τη Θεσσαλία. Νέες συλλογές και σημαντικά ευρήματα Στο πλαίσιο της προσπάθειας, επιστήμονες πραγματοποιούν έρευνες και συλλέγουν νέα απολιθώματα και ορυκτά από διάφορες περιοχές της Ελλάδας. Πρόσφατα πραγματοποιήθηκαν αποστολές στη Δυτική Ελλάδα, όπου εντοπίστηκαν απολιθωμένοι αμμωνίτες ηλικίας περίπου 200 εκατομμυρίων ετών, οι οποίοι έζησαν την εποχή των δεινοσαύρων. Παράλληλα, ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται στην ανάδειξη της φυσικής ιστορίας της Μαγνησίας. Στην περιοχή του Σέσκλου έχουν βρεθεί εντυπωσιακά απολιθώματα θηλαστικών, όπως ελεφάντων, καμηλοπαρδάλεων, τίγρεων και αρκούδων, που μαρτυρούν το φυσικό περιβάλλον της περιοχής πριν από περίπου δύο εκατομμύρια χρόνια. Ο χαυλιόδοντας που παραμένει σε αποθήκη Ένα από τα σημαντικότερα εκθέματα που φιλοδοξούν να επιστρέψουν στον Βόλο είναι ο μεγαλύτερος χαυλιόδοντας προβοσκιδωτού που έχει βρεθεί στη Θεσσαλία και προέρχεται από το Σέσκλο. Σήμερα φυλάσσεται σε αποθήκη του Τμήματος Γεωλογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, γεγονός που, σύμφωνα με τον κ. Βαξεβανόουλο υστερεί από το κοινό τη δυνατότητα να γνωρίσει ένα σπουδαίο κομμάτι της τοπικής φυσικής κληρονομιάς. Έλλειμμα στην Ελλάδα τα μουσεία φυσικής ιστορίας Ο ίδιος επισημαίνει ότι η Ελλάδα εξακολουθεί να μην διαθέτει Εθνικό Μουσείο Φυσικής Ιστορίας, παρά τον πλούτο των γεωλογικών και παλαιοντολογικών ευρημάτων της χώρας. Όπως τονίζει, η επιστημονική γνώση αποκτά πραγματική αξία όταν γίνεται προσβάσιμη στην κοινωνία και δεν παραμένει κλεισμένη σε αποθήκες ή ερευνητικά εργαστήρια. www.ertnews.gr
