Περού: Εν ψυχρώ δολοφονία δημοσιογράφου που ήταν υποψήφια στις περιφερειακές εκλογές
Μια δημοσιογράφος, υποψήφια στις περιφερειακές εκλογές του Οκτωβρίου, δολοφονήθηκε χθες Σάββατο κατά την επίσκεψή της σε αγορά της πόλης Καράς στο Περού. Η 44χρονη Σούσι Απόντε, υποψήφια στην περιφέρεια Άνκας στις εκλογές της 4ης Οκτωβρίου, διατηρούσε τον ειδησεογραφικό ιστότοπο «China Polo Dominical», όπου φιλοξενούσε ρεπορτάζ για παρατυπίες και καταγγελίες για διαφθορά στους κόλπους της αστυνομίας. Πυροβολήθηκε την ώρα που περπατούσε μαζί με υποστηρικτές της σε αγορά, με αποτέλεσμα να τραυματιστεί θανάσιμα. Άλλοι πέντε άνθρωποι τραυματίστηκαν κατά την επίθεση. Η αστυνομία ανακοίνωσε τη σύλληψη ενός υπόπτου, υπηκόου Βενεζουέλας. Είχε καταγγείλει ότι δεχόταν απειλές Πριν από λίγες ημέρες, η Σούσι Απόντε ενημέρωσε μέσω των κοινωνικών δικτύων πως δεχόταν απειλές μέσα από τις φυλακές. Το Συμβούλιο Τύπου του Περού, το οποίο εκπροσωπεί τους δημοσιογράφους στη χώρα, ζήτησε τη διενέργεια έρευνας, υπογραμμίζοντας πως ανάλογες υποθέσεις παραμένουν «ανεξιχνίαστες». Αυστραλία: Άνδρας κατηγορείται για τη δολοφονία 90χρονης κοντά στην παραλία Μπόντι του Σίδνεϊ
Η αυστραλιανή αστυνομία απήγγειλε κατηγορίες σε έναν 47χρονο άνδρα για τον θάνατο μιας 90χρονης, η οποία έχασε τη ζωή της έπειτα απόεπίθεση με μαχαίρι κοντά στην παραλία Μπόντι του Σίδνεϊ. Οι υπηρεσίες έκτακτης ανάγκης κλήθηκαν περίπου στις 17:15 τοπική ώρα, μετά από αναφορές για επίθεση με μαχαίρι στην Chambers Avenue, σε απόσταση λίγων μέτρων από την παραλία, σύμφωνα με την αστυνομία της Νέας Νότιας Ουαλίας. Η γυναίκα εντοπίστηκε με «σοβαρά τραύματα στον κορμό» και, παρά την κινητοποίηση των υπηρεσιών έκτακτης ανάγκης, πέθανε στο σημείο.
